Good Utah/Arizona routes for off road trailer

I’ve done a few of the southern sections of the AZ back country route, but as it’s setup for two wheels, it’s not technical. I’ve also run a few trails in Moab in the spring. Not the same time of year, maybe similar weather at the moment? Devil’s racetrack in the San Rafael Swell was one. I’ve...

Recommendation for mod shop in Silicon Valley?

Please update if you find a shop. I’ve a buddy with a GC and I’d love to give him a name of someplace that has proven work.

    Beginner here

You could, but as always it will effect highway handling. To what extent, maybe others would know? What are you planning to do with the truck is the bigger question. I’ve never had any of my rigs without a front sway bar, and never felt the need to remove one.

Two-way radio comms -- GMRS and amateur (ham)

The cheap hand held leave a lot to be desired, but they are an entry level price point most can do. I ran mine on a mag mount till the glue in the mount gave out. I switch to a trunk mount diamond and then a FT300DR a year later. I have a 15w Midland GMRS radio and separate antenna spec’d for...

Two-way radio comms -- GMRS and amateur (ham)

I’ve got both HAM and GMRS setups. Most of the folks I’ve been in trips with do have HAM, and a lot run the cheap handheld units. I ran a cheap hand held connected to a mag mount antenna for years and it work as well as anything. I got the GMRS recently as some folk prefer that route for a...

    GPS

it’ll work. If I had only one gps, I would do the Garmin Inreach. (sp?) The peace of mind here is the satellite comm ability. It’s a subscription service for the comms, but there’s an SOS beacon (subscription needed for this to work as well) for emergencies. I often hunt with a couple...

    80 series Drawer system build.

Well... I‘d say I am about 80% done. I have a subwoofer I’m going to mount and a duty battery in the back behind the new hatch on the passenger side. Yeah… that hatch took a day and a half. I’m getting better at this, but cutting, matching, and carpeting a hole, then the thing to fit said hole...

    80 series Drawer system build.

So. Got the fridge in and the panels in place. I have to re make the passenger side front face panel as it will house a fuse panel and a LifepO4 battery. I’ll need to have faster and easier access there in case of issues. I still have to mount the sub woofer in front of the fridge and compressors.

    Large rigs

I’ve wheeled with a few Ford Raptor’s and an old Burb. I’ve seen some pretty built up Dodge diesels. They seem to do fine so long as it doesn’t get overly tight. I also tow off road, so if I can snake through, usually a full size rig can too. I would think front ground clearance and some sort...

    80 series Drawer system build.

Got some more stuff done. Finished some details. Fridge slide has a handle now, the platform has carpeted tops, and the air tank is mocked in place. I highly recommend 3M Super 77 and forget the Gorilla. The Gorilla stuff doesn’t hold well at all

    80 series Drawer system build.

I’m slowly getting there. Between overtime at work and wet weather it’s crawling along. I have the slides in for the National Luna fridge mount plate done, the mounting brackets under said fridge slide and the air tank moved over the passenger wheel well. Got the pump mounting brackets done...
