We should now be arriving on Friday late afternoon or early evening as well. To my surprise, the kids are excited to come!

Looking forward to the weekend! Not sure if I'll be coming up Friday night or early Saturday. Also not sure if I'll be alone with kid(s). Will likely not know either until a few days out.

Good point about the trail (although, I don't recall it waking me up... I lived in a train town in high school, so I might be more immune to train sounds while sleeping :) Afton is also like $5-10 per night...

We are going to be in our new rig as well, and similarly we won't be fully setup and will be in a ground tent (unless a FWC falls from the sky and lands in the back of my truck during the next few days) Run what you brung!

We are likely to get a hotel in the Vegas area for the night, but I did look on iOverlander and there do appear to be some spots not too far off the freeway nearer toward Vegas that might work.

Was a quick trip home, pulled into the driveway right around 1pm. The kid and I had a great trip, can't wait for the next one!

Sorry, I was confusing segments 1 and 4. Makes sense to start near prim, that'll give us a gas up location. Hole in the wall is a pretty cool stop for sure, especially the rings hike.

What are the thoughts behind backward segment 1 vs starting in needles? Seg 1 looks to flow into seg 3 if starting at needles
