OK, I'm not "overlanding", but I'm riding my ADV motorcycle through the NVBDR and CABDR at the end of May '22... I am hoping to link up with the California Crest Trail (CCT) starting at Mono Lake and riding the CCT as far as Hwy 395.

For those that have experience with this part of the CCT, do you feel that a heavy adventure bike would be capable of negotiating this portion of the trail system, and what kind of weather/trail conditions can I expect in late May.

Hey @pwbandy_-8615 !

From what I recall, the section around mono lake may have deep sand/fine soil, so it may not be that enjoyable on a big bike. The section north of Mono up to the 395 covers the Sweetwater Mountains. From what I recall-- you should be fine if you're a decent rider, but there's a couple of pretty steep and loose sections around Wheeler Peak and Mt Patterson.
