Chuck here from Northern CA. Currently we have a 23' Jeep Rubicon. We have a cabin in the Sierras and hit some familiar trails often, Gold Valley/Sierra Buttes, Downieville/LaPorte, Uncle Tom's Cabin and others. Looking forward to Lost Coast in mid May.

Mendocino County often does no open the gates north of Usal to 4 corners until the week leading up to memorial day. Additionally, the Bridge down at Usal Beach was damaged by a recent winter storm. They have heavy equipment down there working on it and I was told it'll be back open this spring (the first 6 miles to Usal typically remains open year round). Be sure to keep an eye on Mendocino County's Transportation of Dept page as you plan your trip. They have all county road closures, including Usal listed on their site.
