Joshua Tree, Bradshaw, Kofa, Picacho 14 days in the Sprinter

Did parts of the Sonoran Desert Traverse. Mostly the easy parts. Some highlights were a great boondock west of Quartzite, Four Palms rd in Kofa, Agua Caliente rd where we took off on a two track about halfway through and headed toward highway 10. The road was marked on Gaia but it turned into a pretty nasty bit for miles. Picacho State Park 4S camp was nice but Indian Pass rd on the way out to Ogilby rd had a few parts where I wasn’t sure the Sprinter was going to make it. My co-pilot is too busy being scared to take any video. It would have been interesting. Then just for kicks we went to Prescott because I had never been there. Way too large a town. Then we went to Jerome which is an interesting place. Heading home, we boondocked on a backroad toward Seligman.
Temps in 22 degrees so I ran the Propex heater all night.
Last night we parked in the lot at Harris Ranch after having some BBQ.
Diesel is almost $2 cheaper per gallon in Arizona.

Maybe I need to head to Sedona soon if diesel is <$4 in AZ! What did you think of Kofa?

Ben

I’m just reading this now while camped at Harris Ranch on the way back from an SOT trip in the gold butte area. We started in Saint George and ended up following a lot of the OTG tracks. Spent one night at Little Finland and one in a field of desert rocks and dirt.
Diesel in Arizona right now is about $1.50 cheaper than California per gallon.

And BTW. Gold Butte road is not a well manicured road by any means. It’s a bone shaker.
