Hello everyone, this is Rob in Merced, CA. I've been camping pretty much most of my life, but recently gotten my wife to get a little more adventurous and get to more remote places with me. Together we have 3 sons with the youngest being 16, middle at 21 and our oldest Soldier at 23. We have 2 camping setups for our travels: one being a hybrid pull behind trailer when we want to go glamping, and then we have our Overland Rig setup.
We aren't "new" to Overlanding, we just never had a name for this type of travel/camping growing up! We like to go as often as we can, to as many places as we can, for as short as an hour away near Yosemite, and as far away as Bend, Moab, and along the Cali Coast. I do want to get out more to the rugged areas of Colorado such as the Alpine Loop, Rim Rocker, and other areas like Capitol Reef and such. I just don't have a lot of buddies that want to do this stuff, or that they can't. I am hoping that I could find a great group of people that have the same interests as us and love to just get out there and do this.

Hello everyone happy to be apart of this overland group. My name is John and my wife Teresa live in Santa Cruz, CA. We enjoy getting out into the back country and off grid camping. We would like to find a group that enjoys the same.
I have 97 Jeep TJ with moderate build, I also have an Adventure bike and off road motorcycle habit that I've been feeding the last 20 years or so. My current rig is '18 Ram 3500 with a hard side Northstar Liberty camper on it. It's somewhat nimble off road with the restrictions really being height.

Hi John and Teresa! Nice rig! We are often in your town when doing the glamping thing like New Brighton, Sunset, Henry Cowell. You ever get down the coast a little to Big Sur? Old Coast Road?

The Griz here. My mom calls me Bill. My senior English teach called me WILLIAM! (I'm sure she had a reason . . . !). But now I mostly go by Griz. My wife and I have been camping, hunting, fishing, exploring, forever. We now find ourselves in a Life Situation where we can leave the house, the horses, and the headaches for a couple to several days at a time. So, we're going Overlanding. I have eight pages of Bucket List to complete and many, if not most, of them require some type of outdoor Adventure. We'll be getting an RTT in a few days, mounting it to my old Blazer (until the Blazer dies) and heading off into the lesser traveled regions of Southern Idaho and Beyond. All in the pursuit of Enjoying our Blessings. Travel Safely. But go do something!

Ride it til the wheels fall off! Would love to see more folks using products until they no longer work, rather than just throwing junk into the landfill :/

Hi,
Kevin and Colleen from Mesa, AZ. Former avid mountain bikers and tent campers who are too beat up to ride or sleep on the ground so we bought a 4runner and an offroad trailer Been going offroad for two years - nearly weekly. The runner is pretty built up and I recently regeared to 4.88.

Most offroading is local trails, but we take the trailer to the Mogollon Rim, G.C. North rim, Kofa, joshua, some of Western New Mexico. We recently switched to overlanding rather than camping. It is a little more work with set ups and pack ups, but far more rewarding.

Hello everyone! My name is Jonathan and live in San Pablo, CA with my wife. I drive a 2021 Lunar Rock 4runner TRD Pro. Still all stock but have replaced the TRD rack with a GoFastCamper RTT. We are not new to overlanding as we had a Diesel Grand Cherokee for years before the runner. We both are into adventures and multi-day backpacking. Can't wait to explore OTG site and meet new friends in the community!

Hi everyone, we are Scott and Misdee, also known as Nana and Papa Scott, we are Old Farts in 4 Low. Home base is Santa Maria, Ca. Just a few minutes from Vandenberg Spaceforce Base where one can watch a rocket launch on the west coast. And if you’re lucky you can watch the booster come back and land…what a sight. Bought my first Jeep at age 58. A 2-door JK 508F575B-25CF-4407-AC65-9E903B013749.jpeg If I had known how much fun these things were I would have bought one decades ago, yes decades….remember Old Farts in 4 Low. This year GLADVS came into our lives. GLADVS is a 2022 Gladiator Mohave in sarge green. We immediately outfitted her for over landing: Desert Armor Tank RTT, bed rack, Decked system for all the recovery gear, new winch capable front bumper, and of course a winch. Her Maiden voyage was to South East Utah. Chicken Corners, 4 Corners, Valley of the gods, Monument valley, and of course Hurricane on the way home to say ”hi“ to the crew at Matts Off Road Recovery. No we did not need them later at sand mountian…we turned around BEFORE we got stuck. One of our favorite runs is the Mojave Road. My bucket list run is the Al-Can highway or some other route to the Arctic Ocean and the land of the midnight sun. Have a map on the garage wall covered in pins; green where we have been, red where we want to go. There are a lot more red pins than green...at this time. So far we have just done solo runs, but want to join a group event soon. Planning on Easter Jeep Safari 2023. I monitor GMRS Chanel 19 when we are on the road…holler out and say ”hello” if you see GLADVS go by

Hi everyone! We're Troy and Melissa, along with rescue dogs Tripp and Lizzy. We've enjoyed off-road exploring and camping for a while now, but only lately have started getting our rig and gear more organized and trail ready. Previously we had a Jeep, now a Ford F-150 4x4 that we imported from Canada (KM speedometer! We) upgraded it some, with 33" tires, Fox 2.5 coilovers on front, Fox rear shocks, 2.5" lift, Roam Adventure Co tent over the bed. Carry 2 100 watt PV panels, Dometic fridge and storage battery. What we love about overlanding the most is probably just getting to see amazing places and meet other nice folks in unexpected places. We always bring our ham and GMRS radio gear along, even fly a kite antenna in some places if the winds are just right. grab58.jpg
That along with night photography and hiking with the dogs keep us busy. We're glad to have found Overland Trail Guides, we're off to explore the Guadalupe Mountains Adventure Trail in TX and NM tomorrow.

Hello OTG, Joining in from Vancouver Island, BC, and looking forward to exploring more routes thanks to OTG
Have owned an 07 Frontier Nismo with Tepui RTT and Foxwing, for 3 years and explored lots on the Island and mainland BC on logging roads.
Also a backroads mtn biker and hiker, so enjoy getting out of the vehicle too.
Thinking of tackling the Baja Backroad route soon, but I'm not 'hard core' 4x4 so if anyone has tips, suggestions, info, please pass along

Howdy everyone! I'm Jack and live outside Sacramento.

My son and I took our first disbursed camping trip in Jan 2020 which exposed us to this hobby. The first trip I did was the Lost Coast all thanks to OTG. I recently picked up a '22 GMC Sierra and am in the early stages of outfitting it. My primary setup is a 1960s military trailer with a tent mounted on that. I've primarily explored Northern CA and am looking to expand into Southern CA and Southern OR in the next year. Looking forward to seeing you on the trail!

Hi Everyone.

I'm John. Been doing various offroad stuff since about 2014. Started with vintage motorbikes and racing them in Baja and ended up getting a truck to chase the bikes. Now I mainly go in the truck :)

Setup is a 2016 LB Tacoma offroad, lifted with various mods for camping out in the boonies

Like doing weekend trips in California or longer adventures with my buddies in the CA, UT, AZ, NM region.

Occasionally convince the Mrs and Kiddo to join.

Hi everyone,
My name is Sean and I'm from North Vancouver, British Columbia. I'm not quite the overlander many of you may be but consider myself perpetually "in training". I currently have a stock 2018 Colorado ZR2 that does well for my adventures and is used to access hard to reach hiking trail heads or tow my 6x10 cargo trailer camper conversion which also houses my XT250 / mountain bikes (the Northshore where I live is a mecca) / kayaks etc. I learned quite a bit building a custom off road trailer previously which had an iKamper RTT, but the 6x10 cargo was the next iteration and is far more suited to my needs with shower / murphy bed / basic plumbing / and all the 12v tools & accessories needed to be out in the wild for some time as a basecamp. I'm continually researching as I'm facing down retirement in 2027 and know that some form of more serious overland rig is in the cards at some point. I'm partial to Field Vans / Sportsmobiles though I have friends in the Cruiser community with some very impressive rigs as well. I also like the process of editing video so do make short movies of some of my adventure and post on YT. Thanks to Ben for approving my account and look forward to learning and sharing when and where I can.

North Van-- you're a blessed soul! Wish we had a fraction of the MTB trails you guys do down in Marin. It's all riding hiking trails and staying away from the rangers down in these parts ;)

Hey everyone!

My Names Tyler, I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm Driving a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 truck which is a work in progress. I usually explore central and northern ontario and have been slowly mapping out the logging roads here. I do have a few longer trips planned for 2023, and eventually a Big one across Canada and as far north as I can go. I love being out and exploring new areas, driving past two track dirt roads wondering where do they lead too. the adventure itself is the rewarding part, I also built my own little Camper trailer that I tow around with me, it works great and I love it. managed to get a 12v system installed and next will be the fresh water tank. 20220917_194521[1].jpg20221025_141804[1].jpg

Hi Tyler,
Rod here from western Wisconsin. I've been wanting to spend some time exploring off road in Ontario. I've done some canoeing (Quetico Park & White Otter wilderness) up there, as well as a few motorcycle trips across the province. Beautiful country!
I've tried to do some research on off highway routes in the western part of Ontario but never really found a good place to start, or even what the rules are for that sort of fun. Haven't been willing to make the trip without some idea of where to go. So, I've kept the Bronco on this side of the border - so far...
Great to see you on board! Anxious to hear about your trips!

Hey folks!

I'm Sky, my fiancé Cassy and I have a Scout Yoho on our Ford Ranger. We live in Santa Barbara, CA and are looking to spend 4-6 weeks every year in our rig. We can both work remotely so I'm in the process of doing a lot of electrical upgrades to make this possible for us. Looking forward to trying some of the routes local to us in the spring, and hopefully meeting lots of new like minded people. The photo is from our delivery tour - we picked up the camper in OR and spent a week exploring eastern Oregon, including the Alvord desert, where this picture was taken. We loved the Alvord so much the plan is to go back every year - we tried to do the Steens Mtn Loop but it was closed due to snow, so hopefully next year.

-Sky
