This forum is meant to keep the OTG community up to date on the latest conditions for a particular route or trail. First, you'll notice that it's not possible to create a new Post/Thread in this particular forum. Instead, you'll see that one post per OTG Route exists in the forum. This is meant to keep the forum clean and uncluttered. Other community members can locate the relevant route, and browse the latest status updates provided by other users. If a route that you're interested in does not contain a recent status update, feel free to add a reply inquiring if other members have any recent data on the route.

Posting Route Status Updates

  1. Locate the Relevant OTG Route in the Forum
Each OTG route is represented by a post in the forum. While creating new posts is not permitted within this forum, it is possible to add a reply.
  2. Post a Reply with the Current Conditions
Be sure to include the following items when providing an updated Route Status:

    - Date when you were on the trail
    - Current status: Open, Closed, Minor Obstacles, Reroute Required, etc
    - Additional Details: If there are any issues with the trail, please include relevant details along with specific or general locations if possible. If a reroute is possible, the community will appreciate having this information as well! Even if a trail is open without any sort of issues, adding additional details is always help-- for example, the Trail is Open and running fantastic right now!

Example of a Trail Update for High Water Mark Trail

Date:
4/30/2021
Current Status: Open with some issues
Additional Details: Recent rains have caused the river levels to rise substantially. Buffalo River is approximately 3' deep. Lifted vehicles with larger tires (33" +) may find it difficult and/or dangerous to cross Buffalo River. There's another crossing that's about 30" deep 1/2 mile north of the main crossing. We recommend checking water levels first, but this is typically the alternative crossing point. Aside from water levels, the rest of the trail is running fantastic!
