Example of a Trail Update for a Route

Date:
4/30/2021

Current Status: Open with some issues

Additional Details: Recent rains have caused the river levels to rise substantially. Buffalo River is approximately 3' deep. Lifted vehicles with larger tires (33" +) may find it difficult and/or dangerous to cross Buffalo River. There's another crossing that's about 30" deep 1/2 mile north of the main crossing. We recommend checking water levels first, but this is typically the alternative crossing point. Aside from water levels, the rest of the trail is running fantastic!

Dates: 5/27-5/28
Current Status: Open, Good Road Conditions EXCEPT FOR ONE SPOT (SEE BELOW), lots of down trees across the road but were all cut to be passable
Additional Details: There was dense fog and rain through out my trip, but roads were still passable without much issue. I only hit two small patches of snow on the road which I was able to get my bike through solo with the help of a pulley kit.

There is a partial land slide that has dropped half of the roadway away from it's original position making it unsafe to pass. Will likely never be fixed and will most likely need to reroute as necessary.

There's an issue with a slide on the far northern end of the route right before Howard Lake. This is the same section of road that has slide multiple times over the last several years. The good news is there is a go around. By taking Espee Ridge (road 23N39) you can connect with M2 near Anthony Peak Summit. It will substantially shorten the loop from Howard Lake to Anthony Peak, but the drive up M1 is still well worth it.
