Small note everyone. You probably want to pack a rain jacket as there's a system with moisture moving into the far north coast, and it looks like the Gasquet/Smith River area could see some showers.

Hey everyone,

First, please have someone in the group send an email to that you got this message and are heading out: info@overlandtrailguides.com

We have a bit of an unfortunately situation. I just got a text from Michel, who was about 40 min out from Crescent City, and his Land Cruiser is not starting (as of around 9am). Please meet up at Sea Quake and wait until 11am for people to show up, but it's possible you may need to guide the group without an official guide to camp today. I'm coming up with two other rigs but we're leaving Marin (about 6ish hours to Crescent City) around 12:30-1pm, so we won't get to camp until around 8-10pm tonight.

If Michel isn't there by 11am, please head out with the group and make sure you have the GPX loaded in your device(s). Here's the itinerary for today including camp.

- Howland Hill Drive through the Redwoods. You can take a short hike to Stout Grove if you like, but don't air down just yet.
- Forks of Smith: park at the parking lot and then look for the trail on the right at the end of the parking lot. It's about a 5 min walk to the rocks where the two forks come together, a must do when visiting Smith River NRA!!!
- I recommend airing down after hitting dirt after Forks of Smith River


Camping
1. The first choice is Sourdough Camp. There is a pin on the map for sourdough and it's an out and back.
2. If we can't get sourdough, let's set up at North Fork Campground (you passed this one on the way to Sourdough).

I'll look for Sean's yellow jeep since I know he's in the group of confirmed guests. I'll be posting my phone number via email to the confirmed guests.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to this weekend's trail run event. It was great to see old faces, and make new friends, so many rad people!

Scott, Steve, Kelly, Tiff, Chris + Ethan! Hopefully you guys can make it out to a future trail run event, I think we may try and do something a bit closer to SF/Sac, perhaps Mendocino NF later this summer. If you've got photos, we'd love to see them. Here are a few that I managed to capture, and I'll be turning the all my video clips into a nice edited video for our Youtube Channel in the next 4-6 weeks.
