I personally packed what is not under scrutiny. I hate it when food gets thrown away. I’ll get the meats cheese and veggies in Mexicali or on the road. Got some beer, wine, butter, coffee creamer, dried foods, couple cans with soups, pretzels, chips etc

Mexicali East is always quick and easy

I recommend to get the FMM at the border. Even if done online you will still have to get it stamped at the border immigration office. If you get it online don't forget to bring the printed copy of the FMM and the receipt, otherwise they will not accept it and they will charge you again.
