This marked OTG's first ever Big Sur BaseCamp event, and I'll go out on a limb and say it was a great success! I got to see a lot of old friends, and then met a ton of awesome new folks as well. I think we'll definitely have to turn this into an annual event, given its central location between NorCal and SoCal.
Some of the highlights for me at least (and no, weed whacking isn't one of them
):
We had an epic bonfire the final night of camp!
The oaks and starts were in full effect!
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Sue taking home an awesome Aussie-made wheelbag from Blacksmith Camping.
These judges look serious-- and hungry!
The winning tacos by Joey and Cheryl, featuring short-rib steak and fresh, hand-pressed tortillas
Hiking to the old Indians adobe.
The original adobe walls of the Indians Ranch.

Wednesday, night sunset. At camp all alone.

- Playing viking with the axe throwing settup provided by Joe and Sean
- Being woken up in the middle of the night by a bull tending to his harem of cows
- Hiking to the old Indians Adobe
- The Taco Contest-- Joey and Bill totally ruined tacos for me. Those things were on par with some of the best tacos I've had, bar none!
- The Korean BBQ that Esther and Justin served to so many campers (what do we need to do to bribe you guys to join the next event?)
- Watching the kids run around and act crazy
- An awesome bonfire on Saturday night
- The sunrises and sunset!
