Which Garmin to mount in vehicle?

Hey, any recommendations on the latest Garmin units for mounting in vehicle (FJ Cruiser)? Big screen preferred so I can see it while I'm bouncing around in my seat. Budget would be around $300. I want to do a clean install, no visible wires (as much as possible).

I need a dedicated GPS system instead of using my cellphone, and my Garmin eTrex Venture Cx from 2006 is best suited for backpacking. I've got my eyes on the 3790 right now.

I use an iPad mini with a Dual GPS unit. I have LeadNav, Gaia, onX Offroad and CalTopo loaded on it. The iPad and Dual GPS are mounted to the dash using Ram mounts and a Built Rite bracket. Overall cost was about the same as a Lowrance, but the iPad offers a little more flexibility especially when in camp or a hotel.
