We have multiple folks who've expressed interest in leading a group along the Lost Coast. We recommend spending 3 full days driving this trail. Mendocino County typically opens up Usal Road (from Usal beach to 4 corners) by Memorial Day and closes it in mid-fall, usually in late October to early November. If you plan at staying at Usal Beach, we recommend staying on a Thursday as opposed to Friday or Saturday is recommended, as it can get busy.
