Plumas backcountry trail

The Dixie fire hit the northern half of the Plumas BDT pretty hard last year. Just prepare yourself for that-- but the southern section through Poker Flat and La Porte is fantastic! There's a ton of great discovery points along the way, especially if you're into pioneer and gold mining history. My fav is definitely the Howland Flat ghost town. You may consider piecing it together with the Lost Sierra trail which managed to stay out of the path of the Dixire Fire.
