The First of many Adventures in Southern Idaho--and beyond!

Honestly, I'm kind of embarrassed to even report on our trip this week. We had hoped to have our RTT, follow the South Fork of the Boise for 60 miles, or so, spend the evening fishing, the night in our new tent, and then drive home having completed a successful shake down cruise. Alas, the RTT didn't show up so we had to improvise. We still went up the South Fork leaving I-84 at the Black Creek/Kuna exit just east of Boise, Idaho, and heading up Black Creek Road to Prairie, Idaho. Our favorite stops on this section were the Bonneville Point Interpretive Site, about 5 miles from the interstate, and the Y-Stop General Store and Restaurant, just before we got to Prairie. Along the way we enjoyed amazing views of the Canyon of the South Fork--deep, steep, spectacular! After Prairie we headed south to get back along the South Fork, this time right along the river. We stopped to fish once, broke both our fishing poles, and then headed out of the canyon at the Anderson Ranch Dam. And off to our cabin which is in the area since we didn't have a tent to sleep in. It was a fun, interesting, educational, and just plain enjoyable couple of days! Maybe next time we can go further and sleep in our new RTT. Time will tell! Travel Safely. If you have a campfire, PUT IT OUT! DEAD OUT! Now, get off the couch and go do something! :)
