Hey Good morning. My name is Rolando I am
In Northern California. I had been going to Baja California for the last at least 15 years, either my self or a couple friends. I am planning on going this coming November to see the Baja 1000 car race but before I would like to visit some of my favorite places. I will be leaving around 11/08. Any buddy interested get back to me it will be a max of 3-4 peoples, if you sign up make sure you will be going because if you don’t go you may preventing other people of going. The detail will come up as soon I have the group. I was there 2 weeks ago and me and my friends had a blast watching the Baja400 car race.

Hey Rolando,

What are some of the places you plan to visit and how many miles do you think you'll cover while traveling in Baja? What would be an appropriate vehicle for folks who would like to join you.

For everyone else, while this may not be an official OTG event (it's not on our events page), but I can vouch that Rolando has been going to Baja for nearly 20 years and definitely knows his way around. This will be a rather informal and low key affair for those who would like to join a Baja veterano!

Hey Ben. So far what I am planning is to cross into Mexico either Tecate or Mexicali, if I go Tecate I will take Highway 2D to La Rumorosa and then take H 5 to San Felipe. I will stop for a bite to eat and then continue to H 5 southwest I may stop at Punta final to expend the night or just continuing driving to highway 1 to go Bahia de Los Angeles, expend one or to days and then start coming NorthI may go to San Pedro Mártir National park to expend one night camping and then either Friday or Saturday early A.M. start looking for a place to see the Baja 1000 race. I know a few front row places to pick and choose. Sunday very early morning cross the border back to the USA. The whole trip starting from Northern California should be about 2000 miles. Also I will be doing some very easy dirt driving may be some sand driving also. Basically for any car.

I've always wanted to go overlanding in Baja, but I recently made a travel plan for November, so I'll have to wait a little longer to make that dream a reality.

Basically the trip will start at the border crossing USA side and ending it at the border crossing USA side but if anybody coming from Northern Ca. I will be more than happy to caravan. I haven’t desired yet what border crossing will go through.

So far I am planning in crossing the border to Mexico on 11/09/24 and then crossing back to the USA on 11/17/24. Mexico will aloud free tourist visas up to 7 days, after 7 days will be a fee. Also you will need an auto Mexican insurance. (Bajabound.com). More details on the trip will be posted as time approaches. Do not hesitate in asking any questions related to the trip. Thanks

Not sure if I’ll have my truck back from Enduro, so I can’t commit
But the next time you go down, I want to go with you for sure.
